Hi, What are the concerns about running the script for long periods? Other than racking up many shutter clicks on the camera, are there other problems with leaving a script like this running for long periods?

A third request for the same info! I can see how if you keep it in too tight a loop it could cause a problem, or if the 'sleep' function in the script is implemented at the system level as a busy-wait loop (rather than an interrupt-based wait), but other than that - is the script author just attempting to C(Y)A ? 69.250.66.218 01:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Alex
- We are all asking the same question... what is the problem with running this for a long time, other than wear and tear on the camera? BTW, I am thrilled to be using this with a SD600, 100a CHDK which came out a recently, based on AllBest.

mattkime: I don't know if UBasic scripts have this problem but I find that Lua scripts can randomly error. I don't know if the stack is getting corrupt or what. My solution was to put in a setting that would shut down the camera on script error. I used an arduino to watch the current going to the camera and it would automatically turn the camera on if the current stopped.
This unexplained error would happen somewhere between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 exposures.
