If you are looking the status of CHDK for this camera, you probably want to follow this thread in the CHDK forum :

Also, take a look at this : CHDK Wiki Porting FAQ Info

Patiently waiting

My camera is about 8 months old now seems it may be obsolete by the time or if ever a Chdk comes out!

Hi everyone. Just installed CHDK for A1200. I'm very happy with the raw option and all the features like histogram etc. One problem: I cannot get the override in action. I can make the user menu and want to override the shutter speed. The toggling as explained on the main page (camera in P, half shutter and flower to get AFL) dos not work. Most probably I'm to unfamiliar with CHDK. Any suggestions?

Canon PowerShot A1200 1.00C does not work

1.00A (a1200-100a-1.4.1-4530) - Not tested.  However I believe I performed a diff (ie. diff -urN) between A/B versions and saw minimal if any changes.

1.00B (a1200-100b-1.4.1-4530) - Both standard and full work on my Canon PowerShot A1200.

1.00C (a1200-100b-1.4.1-4530) - Both standard and full DO NOT work on my Canon PowerShot A1200.  Upon using the Preview > Load Firmware method, the orange light on the front of the camera remains indefinitely turned on with no other apparent activity.  A diff between B/C versions detailed many deletions on the C version.  -- 15:52, March 18, 2016 (UTC)

=yes it does=====================

NOTE>> I own both a 1.00b and a 1.00c Powershot A1200. Both cameras run CHDK correctly. In fact, the 1.00c model was used to do the CHDK port of this camera. Please direct any further questions here :
