PowerShot SD30 DIGITAL ELPH / DIGITAL IXUS i zoom / IXY DIGITAL L3

The Ixus iZoom (Europe) / Powershot SD30 (North America) / IXY Digital L3 (Japan) is a 5.0 MP compact camera, released in August 2005.

CHDK is available from the Download page for the Ixus iZoom / SD30 with firmware versions 1.00E, 1.00F, 1.00G and 100H

Firmware information

When getting the firmware version of this camera, besides requiring an empty file called "vers.req" on the memory card, the FUNC SET and FLASH buttons have to be pressed (unlike some other models).

Using CHDK's USB Remote feature on the SD30 / IXUS i zoom

The USB connector is on the camera's cradle. While in the cradle one cannot switch to Rec mode unless one executes the following script with CHDK's Lua native calls option enabled. After using that one can switch to Rec mode and connect the USB Remote to the cradle. The cradle has a plastic tripod thread, too.
