Canon Powershot A1200

CHDK for A1200 firmware 1.00a, 1.00b and 1.00c is available from the Download page.

The Powershot A1200 is the successor to the A1100 and was released in spring of 2011

User Notes

To enter CHDK <Alt> mode use the Playback button. This port support the use of the Face or DISP button as alternative ALT buttoms

Notes on SD Override for the A1200

SD overrides will only work when the camera is in AFL mode ( auto focus lock ). To activate AFL :

The camera must be in P mode (on the upper dial) rather than AUTO or SCN.

You must be in normal Canon shooting mode (not CHDK <ALT> mode)

Press the "left/flower" button after first "half pressing & holding" the shutter release button.

If you complete the above 3 steps correctly, you should see the Canon software put the letters AFL on the upper right edge of the LCD.

Notes on Exposure Override for the A1200

Exposure overrides (including USB Bracketing mode) will only work if the Canon "Servo AF" mode is disabled. Do this from the Canon shooting menu.

Firmware info

The ver.req file is used to retrieve firmware information from the camera.

From playback mode, press and hold down the button FUNCSET and press DISP.
